Ann Miller

    TEACHER

    4th grade

This is my second year at Fireside Elementary and my sixteenth year as an elementary school teacher.  Originally from Nebraska, I received my bachelor’s in Journalism and Mass Communications from the University of Nebraska. My Colorado teaching career began sixteen years ago when I earned my masters in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Denver. I have had the privilege of teaching third through fifth grade in Boulder with one amazing year as a literacy coach at an International School in Shanghai, China. In my fourth grade classroom, I strive to foster enthusiasm for learning about the world in tangent with an increased sense of self and others.  Students can be empowered to turn their strengths and interests into stepping stones for furthering their personal, social, and academic growth. I intend to nurture a safe community where learning occurs through connections with others, hands-on experiences, creativity, and social-emotional well being.  When not in the classroom, you will likely find me doing yoga, traveling the world, reading, or spending time with my family and friends.
