"If you want to build a ship, don’t drum up the women and men to gather wood, divide the work, and give orders. Instead teach them to yearn for the vast and endless sea." –Antoine de Saint-Exupery

I've been teaching since 2004, after I switched careers as a reporter and writer (most recently as a science writer at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory). I have a master's degree in aesthetic education and a PhD in curriculum and instruction; ecological education was the focus of my dissertation. I am National Board certified, and I teach arts integration (to teachers) through Think360 Arts Education. I also freelance for Boulder Magazine, focusing primarily on science, health, and people profiles. I love to travel around the world.
