Welcome to Fireside Elementary!

Dear Students, Staff, and Parents,

It is my honor as the principal to welcome you to Fireside Elementary, an exceptional place to learn, grow, and discover!

As a “Fireside Family,” we believe strong relationships are fundamental to supporting the growth and development of every child. This includes partnering with teachers, administration, parents, and our community in order to provide the best educational experience for our students.

At Fireside, we celebrate the diversity of our student population as well as the talent and expertise of our highly-qualified staff. With nationally certified board teachers, several with Masters and ESL Endorsements, there is a high standard for ongoing growth and development at Fireside in order to meet the ever-changing needs of our students.

Fireside is committed to rigorous academic programming, authentic/hands-on learning experiences, innovative and adaptive instructional approaches, and attention to students' social, emotional, and physical well-being. Our aim is to equip every child with lifelong skills, habits for learning, and a solid character foundation based on mutual respect.

Whether you are a returning or a prospective family, I encourage you to visit our school in person. Upon entering the front doors, you will feel the positive, welcoming atmosphere that characterizes Fireside. Mrs. Keppler’s Background

Christa Keppler has worked in the field of education since 1995 and considers herself a lifelong learner. She has a broad background in elementary education as a classroom teacher, instructional coach, public relations coordinator, professional development trainer, and administrator. She has worked in three different Colorado school districts: St Vrain, Adams 12, and BVSD, as well as at an international school in Istanbul, Turkey. Additionally, Ms. Keppler has worked within schools in Uganda, Africa, and continues to serve on the Mwebaza Board, a non-profit organization that promotes cross-cultural relationships among Ugandan and Colorado schools.

Christa received her Bachelors from the University of Colorado, Boulder in Psychology and her Masters in Administrative Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Colorado, Denver.  Christa is also married to a principal, and has raised two daughters.

As an experienced educator, Christa is deeply committed to her Fireside Falcons. She is a firm believer in the African proverb, “It takes a whole village to educate a child” and supports partnerships between staff, parents, and the community. Creating a compassionate culture where all families are welcomed, staff and students are encouraged to take risks, and attention is given to the whole child are the building blocks for what makes Fireside an exemplary school.

One of her go to mottos is:

"There is no power for change greater than a community discovering what it cares about."

    - Margaret Wheatley

At Fireside, Mrs. Keppler and the “Fireside Family” work together to educate, love. and care for their kids.
