Fireside is well known for its academic achievement thanks to our highly dedicated and motivated teachers and staff. Alongside high standards for excellence, we provide a myriad of ways for all students to optimize their potential in becoming empowered and engaged learners.
Differentiated Instruction
We understand that learning is not a “one size fits all” approach. Our staff is committed to supporting all levels of learners and we are able to achieve this through collaboration, targeted interventions, and intentional extensions for more advanced learners.

Learning is a Social Process, Personalized and Learner Led
As a forward thinking school and community, students engage in authentic, meaningful, experiences within a flexible, collaborative environment. Providing adaptive seating and spaces that are learner-led throughout our school, as well as our Discovery Lab where students collaborate and engage in a variety of hands-on critical thinking STEM projects, we understand the importance of equipping students with skills and mindsets to prepare them for an ever-changing future.
Social-Emotional Curriculum and Character Education
All students at Fireside Elementary receive whole group lessons from both their classroom teachers and the school counselor as part of our social emotional and academic development curriculum. The programs we use at Fireside Elementary are In Focus and Zones of Regulation. Students are also influenced by our P.R.I.D.E. character traits through our monthly P.R.I.D.E. assemblies and student led PRIDE Advisory team.
Experiential Learning
Students at all grade levels apply what they learn through authentic experiences- whether it’s in the outdoors at Calwood for 5th graders or filling our gymnasium with a township in 2nd grade, at Fireside we understand that students learn best when they take risks and ownership for their learning through hands-on experiences.
Developing Environmentally Conscious Stewardship
Through our well established Garden to Table Program, students gain a deeper understanding of ecological processes and an appreciation for the food we eat.
