2nd Grade
Meet our Second Grade Teachers

"The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character - that is the goal of true education." -Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
I have been teaching since 2004. Ten of those years were in the Cherry Creek School District as a second and third grade teacher, a technology specialist, and tech coach. I have a B.A. in Elementary Education and a M.A. in Instructional Technology. I enjoy spending time with family and friends including our dog, Boomer. I also like to read, workout, try new foods and cook. I am looking forward to a spectacular new school year at Fireside and learning with all of you!

"The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go." -Dr. Seuss
Hi! I'm Erin Reivich and I am a 2nd grade teacher here at Fireside Elementary. I've been here at Fireside since 2005, but have been teaching since 1997. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, and then earned my Elementary Teaching Certificate at Penn State University. In 2004 I completed my Master's Degree in Reading and Literacy. When I am not at Fireside, I enjoy hanging out with my daughter, hiking, biking, snowboarding, cooking and reading!
Jamie Roth
"Believe in yourself and all that you are. Know that there is something inside you that is greater than any obstacle."
I couldn't be more thrilled to be a part of the Fireside staff! I am from the state of Washington where my goal in life was to follow in my mother's footsteps and become a professional runner. I left Washington as the fastest miler and half miler in the state and went on to compete nationally. I came to the University of Colorado on a running scholarship, but injuries ended my college running career. It really was a blessing because I found my true love in life, which is teaching. I graduated from CU with a B.A. in Kinesiology, Psychology, and Elementary Education and a M.A. in Reading and Literacy with an endorsement in Literacy K-12. I am also a Nationally Board Certified Teacher. I started teaching in 2004 at Flatirons Elementary where I have taught both first and second grade.
I am an avid runner and love to hike, read, camp, and spend time with my family. I have two spirited daughters (ages 3 and 4) that are truly miracles and I am grateful for every moment I have with them.
I am looking forward to an exciting new year school year as I am determined to learn, teach, grow, and achieve with my Fireside family.
