4th Grade
Meet our Fourth Grade Teachers
Dree Kinder
I am so excited to join the 4th grade team at Fireside! I am from the Chicago area and am finally making the move that I’ve been wanting to make for years! After graduating from Arizona State, I taught 4th grade English and worked for a student travel company in Thailand for a year! I taught 3rd grade in the Chicago suburbs for the past 3 years.
In my free time I love to travel, plan trips, hike, and spend time with my family and friends. I’m looking forward to exploring the outdoor activities Colorado has to offer, and to improve my skiing skills this winter (Illinois ski hills aren’t quite the same)! I can’t wait to meet everyone at Fireside!
Michelle Mattocks
I'm one of those rare Colorado natives you hear about but rarely ever see! I was born and raised in Louisville and never saw much of a reason to leave this wonderful place! I received my B.A. from University of Northern Colorado and my M.A. from the University of Colorado. I have been teaching since 2010 and am constantly learning right along with my students. I am a firm believer in educating the whole child and love when those unplanned, teachable moments present themselves. When I'm not teaching, you will find me jet-setting to new places, trying out a new recipe, seeking out live music, or playing outside in our Colorado backyard.
Ann Miller
Originally from Nebraska, I took time to travel the world before ending up in Boulder, Colorado! I was in the advertising world in Portland, Oregon prior to going back to school. At that time, I moved to Colorado to earn my masters in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Denver.
Since then, I have taught third through fifth grade in Boulder Valley. In my current fourth grade classroom, I strive to foster enthusiasm for learning about the world with an increased sense of self and others. Students are supported in turning strengths and interests into stepping stones for fostering personal, social, and academic growth. I nurture a safe community where learning occurs through connections with others, hands-on experiences, creativity, and social-emotional well being. When not in the classroom, you will likely find me doing yoga, going on worldly adventures, reading, or spending time with my family and friends.
